Resourceful by design.

Prism is a Los Angeles production company that makes ambitious work fit real budgets, for brands, artists, agencies and filmmakers.

How we work

The budget is part of the brief.

We treat the number and the date as fixed points and design the work to make the most of them, instead of finding out on set what doesn't fit.

Plan it before we shoot it.

Schedules, locations, crew and costs are worked out before anything is booked, so shoot days are spent shooting.

Figure it out.

Something always changes. When it does, we look for the creative answer first and the expensive one last.

For brands, artists and agencies

The budget you approve is the budget you spend, and the delivery date holds. A producer runs every shoot day, and you get finished work formatted for everywhere it will run.

What we produce

For filmmakers

We develop contained, micro-budget stories with writers and directors: projects shaped around what can really be raised, shot and finished, from proof-of-concept shorts to features.

Teddy Hawke

Founder and independent film producer

Teddy founded Prism Entertainment in Los Angeles to make ambitious films on budgets that actually exist. He studied film and philosophy at Pepperdine and worked in tech marketing, including at Fizz, before turning to producing.

He runs Prism on a simple rule: keep making things. Each year the company sets out to make a feature, a documentary and a short, and every project is shaped from the start around what it can realistically raise, schedule and shoot. When something changes on the way, and it always does, the job is to find the creative answer first and the expensive one last.

That same discipline now goes into commercial work. Artists, agencies and brands get a producer who treats the budget and the date as part of the brief, and who has spent years making every dollar show up on screen.

Prism draws on a wide network of directors, cinematographers, editors, crew and artists, each with their own style and way of working. Whatever the project, we build the team around it, so the people making it are the right fit for what it needs to be.

Recent collaborators include directors Christina Woo, Kenneth Vargas and Mason Campbell, and cinematographer Karl-Erik Mills.
